Designed for elementary students, our club offers a hands-on experience in building and programming robots, all while fostering critical computational thinking and problem-solving skills.

Throughout the 2024-2025 school year, students will work together to create a competition-ready robot, develop an Engineering Notebook, and showcase their achievements in a friendly, supportive environment.

With a focus on teamwork, communication, and creativity, our robotics club is the perfect place for young minds to explore STEM in a fun and engaging way.

  • The Lancaster VEX IQ Robotics Club is a hands-on program for elementary students to learn how to build, program, and compete with robots. The club aims to teach computational thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in a creative and supportive environment.

  • The club is open to students in grades 3 through 5. There is no maximum number of participants

  • All elementary schools in Lancaster ISD.

  • This year, our goals are for students to build and program a competition-ready VEX IQ robot, maintain an Engineering Notebook, and participate in a Showcase to demonstrate their skills.

  • Club meetings will be held twice weekly, with additional practice sessions scheduled as we approach competitions or special events. See schedule of your school posted above.

  • Yes, our students will participate in a local Showcase this year and have opportunities to compete in regional tournaments in the future. Our long-term goal is to host our own VEX IQ tournament for schools in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

  • Students will rotate through roles such as Builder, Coder, and Designer, ensuring each member has a well-rounded understanding of robotics.

  • Yes, we welcome parent involvement as volunteers. Volunteers can help with team activities, fundraising, and providing general support during competitions.
