HAKcon: A FREE STEAM Field Day for Middle and High schools

May 9th, 2025 at the Arlington Esports Arena

 

HAKing Innovation is reimagining engineering for our youth. HAKcon 2025 is about connecting students in grades 6-12 to engineering, envisioning their futures in STEAM fields, and igniting a passion for innovation through hands-on activities and inspiring experiences that highlight varied technical career paths. At HAKcon, students will have the chance to see themselves in engineering and discover how their interests can lead to exciting opportunities.

For our second event, we’re thrilled to host HAKcon at the Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This dynamic venue sets the stage for a day of exploration, innovation, and hands-on learning, as students dive into the exciting possibilities within STEAM fields and technical careers.


 

Structure of the day:

HAKcon 2025 offers a full day of engaging, hands-on learning and exploration for students in grades 6-12. Here’s how the day is structured:

  • Doors Open at 8:30 AM: To accommodate varying bus schedules, we’ll have activities for early arrivals, including a “bonus” workshop for students who arrive before the official start.

  • Event Kickoff at 10:00 AM: The event officially begins with a warm welcome before students dive into workshops, competitions, and partner visits.

  • Workshops: Students will choose two 50-minute interactive workshops, led by industry experts and educators, to explore STEAM topics and spark curiosity and innovation.

  • Competitions: Robotics challenges and “low-prep competitions” allow students to showcase creativity and problem-solving skills in a fun, dynamic setting.

  • Workforce Development Opportunities: Students will visit with HAKcon partners to gain insight into technical career pathways and real-world applications of STEAM concepts.

  • Lunch Provided!

  • Closing Remarks at 1:00 PM: The day wraps up with final reflections and a celebration of student participation.

We understand that the end of the school year can be a challenge. HAKcon is here to help provide your students with one last experience that inspires them for the summer. We want to make this event FREE as a thank you for the hard work of teaching our future engineers. We appreciate your support, feedback, and shared excitement as we host our second annual event.
